Omega Writers Book Fair
Writing Competition 2021
Entries
Stories (up to 1000 words) and/or poems (50 lines, including
spaces) displaying the theme of HOPE.
All entries, whether written for a secular or Christian
audience, must reflect language and themes in line with Christian
values and worldview.
Categories for OWBF2021
Writing Competition
1.
Published Writers –if you have one or
more stories or poems published (or in the process of being published) in a
print or ebook, enter this category.
2.
Unpublished Writers – if your stories or
poems have not yet been published.
3.
Under 18 years – if you are under
eighteen years of age.
Eligibility
People who reside in Australia and New Zealand. Entries must be the
original and unpublished work of the entrant.
Cost
The entry fee is $5.00
for OMEGA members and $7.00 for
non-members for each work.
You can enter UP TO THREE works (stories and/or poems)
but an entry fee must accompany EACH ENTRY, i.e. $7 for one, $14 for two or $21
for three (or $5, $10 or $15 for Omega Writers. Members who can access the code
through the Omega Writers Members Facebook page).
Prizes
Winners of each category will receive a prize of $50.00
and a certificate.
Judges’ decisions will be final and no correspondence
entered into. The winners will be announced at the Omega Writers Book Fair
(Brisbane) on 31 July 2021

Pay your entry fees for up to three works on
Trybooking https://www.trybooking.com/
3.
Email your completed entry form, the copy of
your receipt and your story or poem to omegawritersbookfair@gmail.com. If you are submitting multiple entries (up to 3), each
entry should be attached as a separate document.
4.
Put OWBF2021 Writing Competition in the subject
line.
5.
Do not put your name in your actual entries (or
you will be disqualified).
Requirements
1. STORIES should be no more than 1000 words
while POEMS should be no more than 50 lines including the lines between
stanzas. Entries ignoring these limits will be disqualified.
2. The theme of HOPE must be evident in the
story or poem.
3. Manuscripts
should be in size 12 Times New Roman font.
4. Spacing
should be 1.5 (for stories) or single spaced (for poems) and margins
2.5 cm.
5. Header
notes must carry the TITLE of the story/poem and footer notes must carry the page
number (if more than one page).
6. You
must fill out the entry form with the TITLE of your work/s.
7. Your
NAME must not appear anywhere on
your manuscript. Entries which show any information about the writer will be
disqualified.
8.
Please submit your work in a word document.
9.
Entry fees will NOT be returned if an entry is
disqualified because the entry is too long or the author’s name appears on the
manuscript.
Please note – Writing on your entry form MUST be neat and legible. All
scanned forms MUST be clear and easy to read. Screen shots are sometimes rather
dark so check these.
Copyright of submitted work will remain with the author.
Entries will
close on midnight, 1st July 2021. Late entries will not be
accepted.
Winners will be announced at the Omega Writers Book Fair
(Brisbane) on Saturday, 2:15pm, 31 July 2021
