Welcome To Omega Writers Book Fair (Brisbane) webpage

The Omega Writers Book Fair connects local Australasian authors with their readers through a diverse array of book stalls, author readings, prizes, workshops or panels on relevant topics. 

The Omega Writers Book Fair (Brisbane) traditionally occurs each year in mid-March, though in 2021 it will be in July due to the general disruption of the COVID pandemic. This will be the fifth time Brisbane chapter of Omega Writers has hosted the event since the first one in 2016

While often grappling with real issues, the books at the Fair have an uplifting, valuing, family-orientated content and many include a Christian themes. Books range from non-fiction (biographies, memoirs, self-help, theology and devotionals) to fiction (historical, romance, contemporary, mystery, science-fiction and fantasy) and cater for all ages.

Past Book Fairs have featured :

*Authors featuring autism and neurological challenges such as Kathy Hoopman (author of All Cats Have Are on the Autism Spectrum), Rhonda Valentine Dixon, Josie Montano and Anna Tullemanns. 
Jenny Woolsey writes stories featuring of diversity and difference. 
* Authors such as Lynne Stringer, Adele Jones, Jeanette O'Hagan, Naomi Eccles-Smith, Cate McKeown, Anne Hamilton who entertain and challenge Young Adult and teen readers.
*Picture book authors - Paul Clark 
*Biography, history and theology including David Malcolm Bennett, Anne Hamilton, Jeanette Grant-Thomson
*Memoirs and Family history such as Ruth Bonetti, Hazel Benn
*Self-Help such as Sally Eberhardt Networking for Introverts
*Romance authors and historical novelists - Jessica Kate, Andrea Grigg, Nola Lorraine
*Writers of Mystery and crime - Vicky Stevens, 
*Science Fiction and Fantasy writers (including many of the YA authors above).


In 2021 the Omega Writers Book Fair will be held on 31 July at  Hills Church, 79 Queens Road, Everton Park. This year, we are holding a writing contest with the winners to be announced at the Book Fair. Bookings for author tables and the workshop and panel will open soon, so watch this space.

So mark your diaries for 31 July and turn up for the event for a chance to speak to authors, hear them read excerpts of their books, buy signed copies and have a wonderful time.
